THE WHEAT CROP.—T:I spite of premature croaking the prospect for a fair crop of wheat in Brad ford county is good and improving every day. and from what we have seen and beard, we have no doubt about there being an average crop, unless tbe " fly" or other cause* yet to happen, iujure it. DIED, In Sheshequin, Pa., April 9th, Mr. GEORGE MAHLER aged 71 years. Mr. Mahler was born in Surinam, South America.bat spent the greater part of his life in Switzerland. Fortune smiled, anon and anon, frowned upon his pathway, but found him ever the same kind and genial spirit. An honest man, and believing everybody as honest, he grant ed favors that were never returned, and the autumn of his life found him in straitened financial circumstances ; and nine years ago he came to tnis country to spend the remainder of his days in the home of his son in-law, Mr WM.
