DIES,
Of Scarlet Fever, in North Towanda, Dec. 12.1560,
AUGUS TA 11.. only child of Charles and Minnie Dun
hip, aged 4 years, 3 months and 18 days.
The little one thus early called away from earth, was
an exceedingly lovely child. Few children ha*e enjoyed
more oi love and att'ection than did she. faded "she
! seemed to feel that every one was her friend/ and truly
! every one was. With her kind and winuing ways, and
her unaffected and pleasing artlessness, she gained the
hearts of all who knew her. She had been taught obe
! (lience. and she loved it. In her last sickness, which was
j exceedingly severe and painful, she uttered no murmur
• nor complaint. No one could have been with her during
the progress of that (earful disease and witnessed her
! sufierings and her submission without feeling that a les
son of patience and resignation was to lie learned from
her example. She did not murmur.—she did often, while
j the lever was raging, ent-eat most piteously to be taken
' home. " Mamma," she would say, " I want to go home."'
We believe she has gone,—that site is tiiere. We believe
j that He.who took little children in his arms, has also ta
keH her, aud that henceforth she " will ever be with the
I Lord."
Her parents, though with crushed and bleeding hearts
they mourn their loss, cannot but feel that they have
still a great treasure of pleasing recollections ,aud fond
remembrances. Kay the fact that oar little ones are ta
i ken from us here tend to loose our affections from earth,
aud &X them in heaven.
Ere sin could blight or sorrow fade
Death came with friendly care—
The opening flower to heaven conveyed
And bade it bloom forever there.

"There is a land mine eye hath seen,
In visions of enraptured thought,
So bright that which spreads between

A land upon whose blissful lcnlte .
There rests no shadow, falls no slain ;
