This beloved child was blessed with a cheerful and even
temper, and a ready and active mind. Kence her ac
quisitions in all directions were easyjtnd rapid. Her
books and her studies were her pleasure; she needed on
ly to be seen to gain a friend. The home circle was her
clement; she was the sun of a large domestic circle, bat
her intellect and her piety were her chief attractions to
the intelligent and devout, She was among the first in
the Sabbath School who obtained a Bible, the reward for
committing to memory the shorter catechism. This
Bible carefully studied, induced prayer and a good hope
through grace, and an earnest desire to unite with the
people of God. During her gradual decline her piety, of
two years stauding, ripened tapidly. It was her pleasure
to converse upon her future prospects, in view of death,
although their realization called her away from affection
ate parents and loving brothers. She was ready and will
ing to depart to be with her Savior.

This dear girl was one of uncommon precocity, having
the intellectual and religious development of that tender

ears. Her piety was intelligent and completely satis
factory to those most competent to judge in the case.
In Wysox, on Monday, February 27, Mrs. MARY, wife
of .STEFUBN SrsicxLANU, in her (57th year.
She was united in marriage to him wiio now mourns
her loss in lelS. In 119 they settled in Wysox, where
the remaining part of her life was spent. They passed
through the toils and trials incident to a life in a new
country, but prosperity attended their labors and they
erose from poverty toau abundance of this world's goods.
The subject of this sketch,like too many others, allow
d the cares of this world to divert her attention from
her spiritual interests until a few weeks before her death
when it became evident she was seeking a preparation
for a better world, and her friends feel that they have
good evidence that she was prepared for a home in heaven.
