8188, In this borough, on the evening of the 4th inst. ABRAM D. MONTANYE, in the 41st year of his age. At the residence of her son-in-law, W. S. Jayne, in Can ton, on Friday morning, sth inst., BETSEY WRIGHT, widow of Charles Wright, a Revolutionary soldier, in the 98th year of her age. The deceased was a native of Connecticut, and for many years an active member of the Presbyterian Church, and one of the strongest advocates for vital piety and activity in the Christian church, to which hundreds of Divines.as well as others, will bear testimony, who have listened to her instructions. She retained her mental faculties al most unimpaired te the latest hours of her life. The chris" tian fortitude and resignation with which she bore her last sufferings for more than three weeks, speaks volumes in favor of the Christian religion. She was often heard to say during her sufferings, which were severe, that they were but little compared with what the Savior suffered for her. So dies the devoted christian, with an unwaver ing faith, the sting of death is overcome, and calmly they fall into the arms of a crucified Redeemer, to slumber sweetly until the morning of the Resurrection. * iirto a&toccrusmncts. —THE subscribers wish to em '' '• ploy an active reliable man in each section of the State to travel and tuke orders for SEGARS AND TOBACCO, by samples.
