Raymond's Latest Improved,
DOUBLE-THREADED
FAMILY SEWING MACHINE
Price of Hand Machine $27 00
With stand and treadle, tools, Ac.... $35 00
These MACHINES AFTER ONE
year of constant use, have Iteen pronounced the best
Machines in the world, and have been used entensively in
the cities of St. I/inis, Mo.. Cincinatti, <>., and Chicago,
111., among the first families, and are preferred to the high
er priced Machines.
They will Stitch. Hem. Tuck, Fell. Gather, and Em
broider. with perfect satisfaction, and especially adapted
to family u?e.
They will sew all kinds of goods, from t'.e finest to the
coarsest, better than any Machines now extant.
The following are the advantages they possess over all
other Machines.
Ist. Any person of ordinary intelligence, can in one
hour, learn to use them successfully.
2nd. They are simple, strong and durable, easily under
stood and managed, and not liable to get out of order.
3rd. They use cotton from the ordinary spool without
rewinding."
4tb. Tiie stitch is stronger and more difficult to rip
than any other made by Machinery. The two threads are
double-looped '"to each other, and firmly tied and knot
ted at every stitch, which is the best and most elastic
stitch ever made.
sth. They sew with cotton, linen and silk thread equal
ly well.
6th They finish their work. There is no occasion to
fasten the thread at either end of the seam, as is required
byother shuttle stitching machines.
7th. Every Machine is made to nm by hand or foot
power, thus combining the advantages of both methods.
All persons desrous of purchasing the best and cheap
est Machine ever invented for family use, will have au op
portunity after the Ist of June, by addressing or calling
on the subscrilier, B. F. SHAW,
v Ulster, Bradford County, Pa.
N• B These Machines are warranted, and any person
purchasing them can return them and get their money, if
ter one month's trial, do they not give satisfaction.

Tioga Foint Churning: Powers.
I^ VERY Farmer, who keeps three or more
J cows, should have a good Portable Churning Power.
Our PORTABLE DOG OR SHEEP POWER is adapted
to any sized dairy from 3 to 15 cows. Price 115. And
our PORTABLE DOUBLE SHEEP OP. CALF POWER,
(a new machine jnst got up by us,) is adapted for dairies
ot from 15 to 25 cows. Price $25. These Powers are ad
mirably adapted for the purpose intended : also for lun
ning grind-stones, corn-shelters, tecd-cutters. lathes and
pumping, and give universal satisfaction. They are du
rable, simple, well-made and compact—requring but lit
tle room or shelter.
For larger Dairies, say of 30 or more cows, our RAIL
WAY, ONE AND TWO HOUSE POWERS arc very con
venient and economical, more so than any other horse
churn powers, for the reason that they are so well ealcu
: lated for a variety of other farm work, such as threshing.
I cutting feed, sawing wood, and similiar uses.
Fanners should certainly examine these Churning
Powers before concluding to buy any others. Send for
our catalogue. WELLES, BLOOD A CO.
