T;:Y;V. IT AGAIN*.— Another Arctic cxpedi

announced. The screw steam yacht Fox
;• heeti secured for the expedition, which will
i ' udueted ly Captain McClintock, 11. N.,
i has leave of absence for eighteen months,
. will sail about the last of June. The pos
:ty of finding any of Franklin's party alive
I lis long period since their departure does
f -com very flattering. But the scientific
l. of England are desirous of finishing a
[/.geographical enterprise, and hence they
lithe present undertaking with large sub
riptious. The expedition, under favorable
remittances, will not occupy more than eigh
en months. And in that time, according to
L i authority, the whole remaining portion
1i- 'ust line and the adjacent regions can
ft - iTi'iighly explored. The various British
ftj iuitioiis alone have explored GoOO miles of
ft '.oast, leaving only 370 miles to bcexplor-
B d this in the section where the vessels of
Iranklin's expedition are very couelusively
ft wn to liave been abandoned. Three times
tae extent can be explored in a year. The
•timers of this service are shown to be less
Ban that of any under tlie British Admiralty.
End this fact is further confirmed by the an-
Runeemeht that any number of British ofli-
Br- aud seamen are ready to volunteer in this
■nil endeavor.

Water Conductors, to the Pipes manufactured by this pro

from 3 to il inches square, according to size of bore and
pressure required, in sections H feet long, with a socket
joint accurately fitted, both air and water tight. As Wy
ehoflTs Machine bores directly through the centre every
time, the timber need only be large enough to .sustain the
pre-sure wanted, as the smaller they are the more perfect
ly they become saturated with water, and the longer they
will last when laid in the ground. It is a well-ascertain
ed fact that while the body or thick part of a pump log is
entirely decayed, the thin sharpened end will he sound ;
at the same time they never stop up from impurities of
the water or being flattened, are free from rn.-t or poison
ous oxydes, lasting about as long as lead or iron, at only
one-sixth the cost.
The above-mentioned Pipes have been extensively and
thoroughly to .ted in most of the Northern State®, for the
fiast two years, and wherever introduced they immediate

water, and can be shipped to any part of the country with
