COAL OPERATORS AGREE.
An Allotment of Tonnage JIado Among
Ilocklnc Valley Owners.
Coltsibus, O., Dec. 18. lpedaZ. The
Hockinc Valley operators concluded busi
ness late last night The question under
consideration was the allotment of tonnage
among the individual operators. An agree
ment iras reached. This was the obstacle
in the way of forming a company and an
agreement to buy and sell all the coal, in
cluding the entire output of Central Ohio.
Is is expected to get the new company into
operation bj January, though there are
many details to complete. The Hocking
Valley road handles more than the other
three'roads in the Taller. The allotment
to the Hocking Valley his been made and
the other three will arrange among them
selves. The new company will handle an output
of over 4,000,000 tons a year, representing
a business of over $10,000000. The organi
zation will do away nith a large number of
agencies, and it is expected to save at least
5 cents a ton in the handling of the output.
This means $200,000 gain to the operators
in the four districts. Cutting of rates will
be avoided, which they think will be a sav
ing of $500,000. There is now a circular
price of 90 cents a ton for Hocking Valley
coat With mining at 70 cents and royal
ties from 7 to 10 cents, there is little margin
left The operators think at least $1 10
should hold for coat They claim the ob
ject of the company is not to increase the
cost of coal to the consumer, hut to di
minish the cost of handling and producing
the same.
Tint Christmas time is drawing near
When lorinc gifts to friends we make,
T hen tables groan with bounteous cheer.
i linked by ".Marvin's Dreaa ana case."
Then, too, his crackers hold their place,
Light as the snow with creamy flake;
Who could not say his Christmas crace
When flanked by "ilarvin's bread and
catct"
Confection, too, do grace the board.
Of which with zest we may partake.
And for them all we thauc the Lord
For Marvin's toothsome bread and cake.
The merry Christmas far and near,
From ocean to the farthest lake.
And hope you all may have good cheer.
And lots of Ilarvin's bread and cake.
