The glass company places its loss at 550, 000, which it seeks to recover from the rail way company. Two Salts for Divorce. Two suits for divorce were entered yes terday. As a work of realism in the portrayal of tbe human form, the painting called "Xana," which was placed on exhibition at Edmunds & Perrine's art gallery, Smith field street, yesterday, is unsurpassed. For those who believe that the aim of art is to delineate the beautiful wherever it is to be found, this painting, in its lifelike repro duction, must appear a marvelous achieve ment. From canv3 and paint man's skill has produced that which by the aid of artificial lights and shades is as near an ap proach to life as is possible. On those who disapprove the reproduction in painting or sculDture of the human form divine or nature unadorned, the work will be thrown awav. But among the many who enjoy a thing of beauty wherever it is found, this picture must come as a revelation of the possibilities which are within tbe range of man's powers.
