The Remains ora Tonne; Girl Taken From
tho Coffin at Cloverland.
Brazil, Ixa., Nov. 21. Tho little town of
Cloverland. tliis county. Is excited over a
systematic series of grave robberies that
have lieen coins on for several
years. Yesterday workmen opened the
Brave or Mary West, the 16-year-old
daughter of Gcorce West, a wealthy and
prominent merchant, with a view to moving
the remains, which were buried there sev
eral years aso. When the coflln was reached
they were horrified to find it empty and
turned over.
This brines to mind the fact that at times
snspietou. looking characters have been no
ticed loitering about the cemetery, and it is
now believed that thev have been robbing
the graves of wealthy deceased immediately
after burial, and, after robbing the bodies of
Jewel?, sold them to medical Institutes. In
vestigation vi ill be made to learn If other
bodies are missing.
