A strange Ftory of life has been brought
to light bv- the arrest of Mrs. Kate Mills,
the demented woman in Lawrencevillc
She was arrested for creating a scene in a
Iawrenceville doctor's office Wednesday
afternoon. She is a German, and is donn
on the police records as being 0 years old.
She is a fairly good-looking woman and is
certainly not over that age.
Yesterday she was turned over to the De
partment of Charities. The officials there
learned her husband, Herbert Mills, was
living on Fifty-fouith street He was sent
for and asked that she be sent to Dixmont.
Herbert Mills is a tall, well-built man who
gives his ace as 21. He is a mill worker
and lived with his mother at 40 Forty-ninth
street. Some few months ago he met the
girl. She had just come over a short time
before and had some money, though she was
then working as a domestic.
"How did you come to marry her?" asked
Examiner HoSmaun.
"I don't just exactly know that, but I was
taught a lesson that will hereafter keep me
from drinking. She bad money and seemed
badly gone on me, and I was enjoying it
one gave me money jreeiy, ana J. spent it as
rapidly as she gave it. due day she filled
me up'vith liquor, and next day when I got
sobered up she showed me our marriage cer
tificate. It nearly took my breath away,
and I concluded it was time to get sober. I
did, and we went to housekeeping on Fifty
iourth street
"Atter that I noticed that she did not
seem herself at times and acted as if she
was much v.orried about somethine, and I
was of the opiniou that she probably had
left a farailv in the old country. I never
asked her this, however. About a week ago
her brother, who came over with her, died.
Since then her condition has gradually be
come worse, until now she is violent"

hereby given that a sale of properties
hereinafter described will take place under
order of tho Orphans' Court, directing B F.
Clever, administrator D. B. N. C. T. A.,nnder
tho last will and testament of Bobert Steele,
recorded in Will Book, vol. 20, page 17. to sell
the properties hereinafter described, in pur
suance of said order of court, made March
19, 1893, at No. , March term, 1693. The first
piece of property being described as follows;
All that certain piece or parcel of ground
situated In the Seventh (late Sixth) ward,
city of Pittsburg, county or Allegheny, State
of Pennsylvania, being composed of lot No.
113 and a part of lot No. Hi, in Thos. Scott's
plan, of the subdivision of out-lot No. three,
iu the manor of Pittsburg, which said plan is
recorded in Flan Book one, page 28, bounded
and desorlbed as follows: Beginning (and
fronting) on the easterly side of Scott street,
at tho distance of 24 ft. fiom Hazel (formerly
Decatur) street, thence extending along
Scott street, southerly 25 ft. 9 inches,
more or i less, to center of a 2
ft. 11 in. alloy, at the corner of lot
of ground of H. W. Sackett; thence extend
ing back easterly, preserving the same
width, between lot No. HI in the same plan
and the line of Sackett's lot, a distancaof 100
ft., to smaiiman St. (formerly cnerry aney)
being the saraeproperty conveyed to Bobett
Steele by John T. Gray and Agnes A., his
wife, by deed dated August 20, 1870, and re
corded In the-Recorder's offlce, vol. 262, page
75, upon which property is erected a small
brick dwelling house and a small frame
building. This property will be sold upon
the premises SATURDAY, April 30, 1893, at 101
o'clock a. it. Second All that certain pteoe
or parcel of land situated in Fenn township,
Allegheny county. State of Pennsylvania,
bounded and described as follows, to wit:
Beginning on tho township road, at the
northern corner of land allotted to Logan,
one of the heirs:, thence south 83 25' W.
77 81-100 perches by Logan's line to the line
of land or Richard Jones; thence north (P3V
W. 101 SO-lOOperches to township road; thence
by said road south 88 13' E. 7 38-100 perches;
thence south 57 87' E. 47 93-100 perches to the
middle of tho aloresaid township road:

perches to the place or beginning,

This property was conveyed to Bobert
Steele by William Frew and Martha E his
wifo, by deed datod April 2, 1877, and re
corded in Deed Book, vol. 369, page 890. Ex
cluding thereout and therefrom that portion
of the farm devised by the said Robert
Steele to Matthew C. 8tcelc, consisting of
6K acres, -which has beon surveyed off from
tho larger portion of tho farm, and de
scribed as follows: Beginning at a point on
or near the township road; thence south 0
17' W. 411 20-100 ft. to a point; thence north
56 11' W. 77J ft. to a point; thenco north 0 17'
E. 370 43-100 feet to a point; thence south 88
17' E. 121 75-1C0 ft. to a point; thence south 58
11' E. 623 25-100 ft. to a point at the place of
beginning. Containing 6K acres, leaving to
bo sold -under this salo 30-40-1003 acres, on
which is erected a large two-story dwelling
and barn. This property will be sold upon
the premises SATURDAY AFTERNOON,
April SO, at 3 o'clock. Terms Ten per cent
to be paid when property is knocked down,
one-third cash upon delivery or deod and
balance in one and two years, to be secured
