Oats were dull and ste:i(iy. Hog products stronger and higher. There was nothing in the situation to warrant this bulge, and the opinion was lreely expressed that it was due to manipulation. ONE WELL YESTERDAY. KELSO NO. C OF PATrERSON & JONES WAS ALL THA't CAME IN BIG. Somo Good Gordon "Wells TJeported Near "Willow Grove Tho Production Did Not Change Testerday Several Wells "Which Should Get tho 'Pay Streak To-Day. There were few wells added to the list in the McDonald field yesterday. The only one of importance, or rather of-size, was Patterson & Jones' No. (i, on the Kelso farm, in southwest McCurdy. It was re- I ported to have come in and to be making SO barrels an hour. It is located in old territory and is not muoh of a sur prise, as there are good wells in the imme diate vicinity. Bailey & Patterson's well at Willow Grove camo in vesterdav and in the first 12 hours put 135 barrels of oil in the tank. It is in the Gqrdon sand. Thompson & Co. are starting two wells ontneMcVicker property back of Willow Grove. Tlie Lennox well at Oakdale was shot yes terday morning with 20 quarts of glycerine. It responded bv throwing a Btilhl column of oil as high as the crown puller. The people wljohave leases in the neighborhood -believe it will be a fair well. The production yesterday was the same as the day before, owing to a number of old wells .having been agitated. The stocks wero pulled on for a short time and reduced to 7L000 barrels. There is now no danger of the production going to such a point that it cannot be handled, and no one in the field ever expects to see it above 30,000 barrels again. The Gordon production is still going up, but not as fast as it was a few months ago. In the Upper Country. The "mystery" weH on Sawmill run is at tracting a great many northern oil men to that vicinity. It is guarded, and nooneis nllowcd to visit it. It is supposed to be about 1,400 feet deep, but nothing definite is known about it. The well is located 11 mites north of Ivinzun. The latest report from it is that the hole has been plugged on top of the fourth sand; Almost any morning the farmers in the vicinity expect to wake up and find them selves rich, as it Is believed that the owners fif this 'well will send the bit into the santl some nice night. The well first drilled by the Smethport Gas Company on tho Tyler farm, a mile southeast of Smethport, has demonstrated that there is a fine gas rock in the vicinits-, and that oil may be found in paying quanti ties. The Gale well, on Mifldlo Island, near St. Mary's, is flowing at the rate of 109 barrels a month. Tho Standlfoid well made a nice flow last week. There are no tanks at the well, and the oil was lost.
