THE FLTTSBTJRG- DISPATCH SUNDAY" NOVEMBER 8- 189L

BACK TEOM UTAH.
Sir. I4nk Thlnki tlie Mormons Should B
Given ft Chanrs
KudolTii;iik7fbnneriyof this city, but
now of Xew York, was in the city for a few
days last week. He was on his way back
from a five-months' tour of the West. Dar
in? hii tour he visited the wonderful
Ealton lake in the Arizona desert
and enjoyed a ride of 30 miles on it. He
thinks it has come to tay and should be
placed on the maps. One curious thing is
the old salt works that a few months apo
was the solitary feature of the preat alkali
c?crt, now stands in the middle of the lake
which is at least 30 miles in diameter. In
sneaking of the crops, Mr. Link Raid that
there era thousands of acres of grain just
rotting away, the farmers not having the
taeilitie? for removing the enormous crops.
Mr. Link also spent a good portion of his
time in Salt Lake City. He thinks a great
injustice has been done theMormons, which
inmates trnm those who have had no in
'.cht to their true character. Leaving
fiside their religions belief they are in
dustrious, energetic, honest and upright in
all their dealincs. Most business men have
such a high opinion of them that they are
extremely solicitous for their trade at all
times. Said he: "I would gladly sell
to Mormon commercial men without
taking the trouble to ascertain their
financial standing. The fact that
they are able to carry on business under the
strict, methodical and sound system in
Toeue anion; them is proof that they are
tol'il financiallv."
Mr. Link thiiks a little more considera
tion should be given them by an intelligent
end just people.
