The vacancies in the 1'olicc Ilurcau caused
hr the resignation of Inspector McAleese
lave all been filled. The appointment of
Captain ijilvis as Chief Inspector left room
for hisiuccessor. After a consultation with
Chief Urnwn yesterday morning, Superin
tendent "Weir appointed Lieutenant llobcrt
Dennison 10 fill the place. Officer James
Glcjm was m:ide Lieutenant. This fills all
the places, and the Bureau is now coni
jiletcly officered.

done valuable work for the city. During
his time as lieutenant in the First district
Dennison has shown marked ability as an
officer. He is a good disciplinarian and has
. a thorough know ledge of police matters, be
sides being cool and courageous and in oth
er ways adapted for the place he now steps
into.

considerable time and has set veil faithfully
