KUISAXCE TEAS MUST BE ABATED Mrs. Love's Sensational Answer to Her Hus band's Divorce Plea. f YESTERDAY IN THE TAE10US COURTS Judge Collier yesterday fixed nest Friday for a 'hearing on the rule for an attachment to bring Chief Bigelow, of the Department of rubltc Works, Into court for contempt. The case is the one in hich Chief Bigelow was convicted In the Criminal Court of mis demeanor in maintaining a nuisance. The nuisance consisted of filling In along the -whart. It-as objected to by Reese & Co., who entered suit against him charging that he was destroying the wharf for wharf pur Hose's. The Court t-uspended eentense in the cnofor a time owing to the pending legis lation which would give the Chief of the Department of Public Works power to mako uch alterations on the wharf as ho choe. Sentence was finally passed, how ever, and Chief Bigelow ordered to abate the nuisance within a specified time. He has not done so, and a petition for an attachment for con tempt of court w as filed. Friday was fixed for a hearing and a process directed to be issued tobnng tho defendant into court. AIL ALLEGATIONS DENIED. Sirs. 31. D. tore's Kesponse to Her Hus band's Salt for Ditorcc. Mrs. M. D. Love yesterday filed an answer to the suit for divorce brought against her by her husband, L. E. Love. Mrs. Love de nies the charges made by her husband. She states that their separation from July to September, 1500, was by mutual agreement under articles of separation, caused by his cruel and barbarous treatment of her. She took him back on his proniiso to do better and treat her as a husband should. Ho, how ever, continued his cruel treatment. She denies that she was too friendly with Dell brought there by her husband. Several times when Stevens wanted to leave Love v ould induce him to btny. Loe frequently brought liquor to the hou-o and compelled her to drink, lie v ould also make her acquainted with men 6lic did not w ish to know, and tell improper stories while she -as present. He would buv tickets to entertainments, etc., and try to mike her go with other men, especially Stcvens. She neer, she claimed, went to improper places with Stevens.
