His wife said that had a friend not given her a dollar on Wednesday the two younger babes would not have been living jes terday. Another case of even worse destitution was found .it the home of Christ Altwalter. on Humboldt street. Allegheny. The father has oneec kuocked nut. and is so badly injured that lie has not been able to work for a year. His wile, a little German woman, has struggled lo provide for ber-elf and her four little chil dren, but last week she had a stroke of paralysis. Tho Registration Lists Made Up on a Basis of Three Wards and Hardly Good lor Eight Residents Will Certify at tho rolls. The election officers of the new city of McKcesport have before them a disagreeable problem to solve. The last registration of voters was taken when the place tr,is a borough with bnt three wards. The regis tration was commenced in Jnne and com pleted in September. Since then the wards wero redivided, and eight wards made instead of three. The County Commissioners are ex pected to furnish a registry list for the city, but their list only shows the resident voters of the old three wards, and would be of no service in an election in the eight wards. It is a similar question to the one raised in Pittsburg wben the wards were redistricted, but it cannot be settled in the same manner, as in Pittsburg's difficulty the court withdrew its approval of the commissioners' report on the re dinrictlng until after the next election. In McKeesport's case proceedings have taken place on a basis of eight wards, and the court has appointed election officers for all of the wards. At present the only way out of the mat ter looks to be that every voter will have to be qualified at the polls as to bis residence. TO-DAY'S C0TJET CALENDAR.
