Judge Stowc, of Pittsburg, arrived here to night, and to-morrow he will begin the trial of Ann Brundage, charged with being an accomplice to "William "West in the murder of the Crouch iamily at Bentleysville this summer. It was thought that the defense would ask for a continuance, but Attorney Patterson says that the trial will begin im mediately. Great interest is being shown in the trial here. Ann Brundage's little bov is now with her in the jail. He was brought here Monday last by his father. Homer Harvey, who lives in "West Brownsville. Harvey is the man to whom tbe Brundage woman was married, and whom she deserted for William West. The boy is her son by that marriage When he was taken into the jail his raotcer threw her arms about bim. kiscd him reoeatedl and cried wildly. They are often seen at the grated win dow looking out into the court jard and laugh ing and talking together. Harvey, tbe woman's husband, did not co into the jail to see her when he brought the boy. He has engaged J 1 Judson and J. M. Patterson, attorneys, to defend her, and says he will do all he can to secure her a fair trial. CASE OF JUVENILE DEPEAVTIT. Frank! e Stout, a 14-year-old boy, of Northfleld township, was placed m jail here to await a trial on tbe charge of horse stealing. The lad had gone to Consta ble Dans' place yesterday and asked him to go with bim and help him catch a horse, which, he said, had broken awar from bim and jumped into a field near by Ihe boy said be bougnt tbe horse in Cleveland. Sir. Davis took the bor borne with him and kept him over night. Earl this morning the constable wakened, and. hearing a noise near his window, looked out and saw it was his ow nhore which had been turned loose and which the youag rascal had asked bim to help secure. The bov bad disappeared, but Mr. Davis found a bridlo in the barn, which tbe joung fellow bad evidently tried to throw oertbc horse, and had failed. He started out after tbe boy. and caught him riding h neighbor's colt out of tbe pasture. This morn ing the janitor of Geneva College was nearly crazed when he opened the school doors and found that some miscreants had entered dur ing the night and frcelv daubed the walls, blackboards, desks, chairs, etc., with a coat of brilliant blue and jellow paint. All of the different classrooms had been sim ilarly treated, and the damage done will be considerable, as the paint was oil color and was applied with such a ruthless hand that the furniture is about ruined beveral umbrellas left behind by students and professors bore the inscription in blue and yellow.
