Primaries for the nomination of borough
officials for the new borough of Brushton,
between Homewood and "Wilkinsburtr, will
be held to-day. The electioa will take
place next Friday, the 21st. Ephraim
Smith, Esq., will probably be chosen
Burgess.
The taxable propertv valuation of Brush
ton borough is estimated at $600,000, and
the number of voters at 300.
Politeness the First Consideration.
Ladies, when visiting Kautmanns' cloak
department, may buy or not buy, but they
inTariably will be treated with uniform
courtesy and attention. Thus, for instance,
you can call and see the beautiful beaded
wraps and cloth capes, which Kaufmanns
will close ont to-day nt the greatly redueed
prices of SI and S2 98. It won't take vou
lone to see that these garments are-actually
worth three to four times the prices asked,
yet, in spite of being convinced of this fact,
you still are not expected to buy, unless yon
do so withont the slightest urging or impor
tuning. This is Kautmanns' wav of doing
business. Can as much be said of other
stores? Hardly.
