For the first time in many years the Grand Army of the Republic will not turn out in the usual grand parade which has distinguished this organization for years. The patriotism of the old soldiers is like the great nation itself deathless, so long as a man of it lives who breathes its principles, and however much they would like to march, their aged limbs refuse to act The patriots who stood by the Stars and Stripes in the hour ot danger, amid priva tion and want, have crown old in years, but their hearts are still with their dead com rades, and they will remember them to-day in as impressive, it not auspicious, manner ss in the years gone by. nOW MET tVTLIi MEET. The various posts, instead of meeting in a body and marching in a solid column, as heretofore, will meet m separate bodies and each attend to tlie cemetery nearest to them. The city posts will take the tram to Forty-third Hrect. and will have only a fen blocks to walk. The East End posts will march from their hall to the Homewood cemetery, and the Soutbside posts will take care of the graves on that side of the river, and the Allegheny organizations will look after the dead in their cemeteries. Mass meetings and campfires, as usual, will draw the veterans together in the evening, and many a tale of the glorious deeds of valor will bo gone over and over again by those who once marched, fought, camped and suffered side by side with the brave bors whose graves tcey have once more decorated. Memorial exercises will be held at Mechan ical Hall in the afternoon, and Grand Army men will attend to meet their friends. The grave of that faithful nurse. Miss Helen P. Ppeer. will receive due attention.
