The recapitulation of the poor taxes were
ni follows: Borouchs, S20.185 88; townshiDS,
fiO.063 21; toUl, 560,249 09.
The report shows the total valuation ot
the real, personal and mixed property in the
county, and the amount of tax to be col
lected by the Countr Treasurer. The as
sessed valuation is 53,666,369 less than in
1889, when it was ?2S8,227.828. The de
crease is not owing to a depreciation in
value, but last year many charitable
institutions, etc., were assessed, and as
the courts have since decided the
tax. could not be collected, they were
exonerated and this year were not assessed.
Buijor this 1890 would show an increase
ove- 1889. The countv tax levy in 1889 was
Sl.f 72.911 19, while this year it is but $873,
GC, 90, largelv due to the decrease of 1 mill
in the tax. The State tar last year was
S120.890 20. and this year is increased to
!7,701 97. The poor tax for last vear in
s borougns and townships was $61,569 07
d this year is 560,249 0a. The total tax
; county has to pay is 51,061,486 96.

If Tu have any rooms with old broken
plastered ceilings, or old, decayed and open
Jointed wood ceilings, send for it.
Our patent paneled iron ceilings have
been before tbe public for the last eight or
ten years, Bnd now there art thousands in
use, scattered all over the Union, in stores,
banking offices and hotels, while its superior
acoustio properties has brought it into ex
tensive demand for churches, halls and opera
houses. Its low cost and cleanliness intro
duces it into schools and asylums. And
now the increasing demand lor something
to take tbe place of plaster for residence
ceilings, something that would gratify the
artistic taste of our most cultivated house
wives, and still be permanent and endur
ing, and thns save them the constant annoy
ance and expense ot re-plastering and re
papering; something that could be applied
over the old broken plastered ceilings with
out being compelled to take down and re
move the dirt and dust-covering stuff, has
prompted us to bring out these beautiful
designs of embossed metal plates. These
embossed plates are adapted to side walls as
well as ceilings, working np beautifully
into wainscoting, frieze and field. ' As all
figures and designs are in relief, really very
little brush decoration is needed. They
are, however, susceptible of any desired de
gree of ornamental decoration from simple,
quiet tinting to the most elaborate and or
nate display ot coloring, gilding and bronz
ing, giving abundant scope for display of
taste and talent to our most gifted decora
tive artists. Address A. NOKTHKOP & Co.,
