ttTZClXL. TBT.TMB iW TO TEX DISPATCH.!
Butlkb, December 10. Two weeks ago
this community was startled by a fatal
nitre-glycerine disaster, and to-day the ex
perience was repeated. At 9.45 o'clock this
morning the factory of the Butler Torpedo
Company, located a mile south of Butler, on
the Samuel Shafiner farm, exploded with a
report that was heard for miles, and the
shock shook houses in this place and knocked
articles from mantels and shelTes. James
Woods, married, and "William Medill, sin
gle, were in the factory when the explosion
occurred. "What they were employed at
when the explosion took place can never be
told.
A young man named Hutchinson
had been in the factory with them
a few minutes before the explosion, but he
had been sent to Butler for some supplies,
which the two men needed. He had driven
about 200 yards from the factory when the ter
rific shock camt, and for a time he was stunned
from the effects of the shock. When he recov
ered sufficiently to look around there were only
the ruins of the factory and a Die hole where
the factory had been. He was so badly f right
ened and unnerved that he was unable to prose
cute muih of a search for the two men who had
been in the factory, and after remaining afew
minutes he drove into town to tell the news of
the calamity. A valuable team of horses was
also lolled in the wreck. m
The f racmentary remains of Wood and Me
dia were broutht to Butler this evening and
taken to Boessings' undertaklne rooms. Two
Bmall boxes contain all that was found of weir
bodies. Wood was married and leaves a widow
and two small children. Medill came from
Canada and was unmarried. It was rumored
that other persons who were in the vicinity at
the tome of tho explosion were taissing. but
nothing definite to that effect has been learned.

CATARRH
Is a complaint which affects nearly everybody,
more or less. It originates in a cold, or succes
sion of colds, combined with impure blood.
Disagreeable flow from the nose, tickling in the
throat, offensive breath, pain over and between
the eyes, ringing and bursting noises in the
ears, are the more common symptoms. Catarrh
is cured by Hood's Sarsaparilla. which strikes
directly at its cause by removing all impurities
from the blood, building up the diseased tissues
and giving healthy tone to the whole system.
"For several years I have been troubled with
that terribly disagreeable disease, catarrh. I
took Hood's Barsapartila with the very best re
sults. It cured me of that continual dtoppln
in my throat, and stuffed-up feeling. It has
also helped my mother, who has taken it for
run down state of health and kidney trouble. I
recommend Hood's Sarsaparilla to all as a good
medicine." Mes. 8. D. Heath, Putnam, Conn.
