Much anxiety is being felt here, and considerable gossip indulged in, over the scdden disap pearance of Mrs. Dillon, the wife of Dr. Dillon, a well-known physician. She has been missing since last Tuesday night, and no trace of her has been found nor anything heard as to her whereabouts. It was about midnight when her youngest son was awak ened by a hack driving up to the house, and she left the house the same night. On the same night a lady, supposed to be Mrs. Dillon, purchased a ticket for New York at the Panhandle depot. Her life for years has been very unhappy, ana it is asserted that she has often intimated that she would end her ex istence. There are some fears that she has done this. Three little children were left he hind, and it is thought that she would not leave tbem unless she contemplated suicide. A. very sensa tional shooting affair occurred at Farmincton, sear this city, yesterday evening, in which Miss Alice Tootman, the daughter of William Toot man, one of the most prominent men in this section of the State was the victim. About 3 o'clock in the afternoon two brothers named Wright, and Clinton Jones, the latter a son of Frederick Jones, aleading citizen, accompanied Miss Tootman to view a new gas well in the neighborhood. Alter spending some time at tne well the party started home and bad cone but a short distance when young Jones suddenly left Miss Toothman's side, and, stepping behind her, drew a revolver and shot her in the back. The unfortunate girl was carried to her home and her wound pronounced fatal. No reason is as signed for Jones' act, but jealousy is supposed to be the cause. A GKEAT JOLLIFICATION. There were at least 10,000 people present. Gov ernor Campbell, accompanied by Colonel Neal, arrived at 6.15 from Hamilton. They were met at the depot by the different clubs, headed by bands which escorted them through the city. The principal streets were ablaze with fire works; business houses and residences were handsomely decorated and illuminated. The other notables present were Hon." Calvin S. Brice, Hon. John A. Lima, November XL The Lake Erie and Western road had two disastrous freight wrecks yesterday, one near Fremont and the other at Fostoria. An east and west-bound freight collided near Fremont, and both en gines were nearly demolished, a car of crude oU took fire and burned together with 12 freight cars and contents. No one was injured. The lots to the company -Mill reach $20,000. At Fostoria a Lake Erie and Western freight ran into an Ohio Central freight at a crossing, making a bad vreck, delavme trains on both roads for several hours.
