The President Boti st Fischer Piano.
President Harrison is not only a lover of
music, bnt knows a good instrutdent when
he hears it. Through his son, Mr. Kussell,
of the Judge Publishing Company, he or
dered a J. & C. Fischer cabinet grand'np
right, -which has just been completed, and is
undergoing the finishing touches prepara
tory to shipment. It is a beautiful speci
men of the piano maker's art, in light ma
hogany, with artistic and delicately en
prayed panels, and is as fine an instrument
in tone and quality as the famous firm have
ever turned out It will reach the White
House some time next week. American
Musician, Nov. 5.
The above paragraph goes to show the
high esteem in which the Fischer is held in
the higher circles of society elsewhere than
in Pittsburg. Here they nave been steadily
forging ahead until now and for several
years past they have really led all competi
tors, except, of course, the Decker Bros, and
Knabe and excepting these two matchless
pianos, S. Hamilton, the general distribut
ing agent for the Fischer's, has repeatedly
offered to place them side by side in com
petition with the very best of other makers,
and always where done, the Fischer has
come off victorious. It is not a cheap piano
by any means, although to introduce them
in new neighborhoods, Mr. Hamilton has
sometimes sold some of the plainer styles as
low as $300; but the many hundreds of
pleased purchasers among our best families
will rejoice to know that the family ot the
head of the nation know and are willing to
pay for a fine piano. An elegant stock of
mese reaiiy genuine arst-class pianos is
now to be seen at S. Hamilton's, Hamilton
building, Fifth ave., Pittsburg.
