A German Organization Marks a Bnilding Boom and Acts. THE! DOST WAST THEIE OLD CHAETEE The stockholders of the Turners' Building and Loan Association of this city will hold a meeting to consider the advisability of in creasing the capital stock of the company from 525,000 to S100, 000. The association was incorporated in 1881, and the issue of stock is limited by charter to 2,500 shares at $10 each. At present there are 224 members, and a total issne of 2,470 shares bat 30 be low the limit The officers are in receipt of numerous applications for stock, and, encouraged by past success, feel that the possibilities of the as sociation are crippled by the present limitation; hence the proposed increase. Should the application be refused the so ciety intend to apply for a new charter, to enable them to do business on a larger scale. The present charter has yet 20 years to run. The report of the Treasurer for the year from April 11, 1888, to April 10, 1889, shows the following Tery satisfactory standing: Loans on mortgages, $14,236; loans on notes, $16,425. The withdrawals have been $7,10125; the expenses were $215 95, and the net profit for the year $3,574 22. The object or toe association in increasing its capital stock: is to loan monevto mem bers, upon the payment of a certain sum, to be used lor building purposes, taking a first mortgage upon the property, which sum is to tie paid by weekly or monthly payments with interest, just as in the case of other building and loan associations. Should the mortgagee find it convenient to complete bis part of the contract, he may dispose ot his interest in the property by guaranteeing the society from loss. Sullivan Trnvels Eaatsvnrd. John L. Sullivan passed through this city yesterday on his way East. When it was quietly whispered about that the cham pion slugger was on board, a few people gathered in front of his car, but failed to see any more of the big fellow than 'he more curious who attempted to bribe the porter on guard to indicate where the sleeping hero lay. Mr. Beckley l 3II.lnc. C. F. .Beckley, of Philadelphia, came to Pittsburg yesterday in search of his lost wife. She left Philadelphia last Sunday to visit Mrs. Addington, of Green Tre bor ough, in this county. She arrived on Sun day night and stopped at the St. Charles Hotel. She left the next morning, and nothing has been heard of ber. Notice. The undersigned having disposed of the Franklin Flouring Mills, at "West View, to Mr. James W. Breen, would request a con tinuance for my successor of the patronage so liberally bestowed on me for the past 20 years. M. Kxoedleb. The undersigned having purchased the above plant is uow prepared to offer to bakers and dealers generally the choicest rye flour in this market at bottom rates, and to grocers, dealers and families a strictly cbeice winter wheat and graham flour. To dairy men, liverymen, etc, prime mill feed is offered at prices that cannot be duplicated elsewhere.' Quotations on application. " :BespectfulIr, James "W. Breejt, Glohe Flouring Mills, West View.
