AN ORDINANCE-AMENDING AN OR
DINANCE entitled "An ordinance au
thorizing the opening of Clawson street, from
Grazier street to north line of Pennsylvania
Railroad," approved August 7, 1888.
Section 1 Be it ordained and enacted toy the
city of Pittsburg, In Select and Common Coun
cils assembled, and it is hereby ordained and
enacted by the authority of the same. That an
ordinance entitled an ordinance authorizing
the opening of Clawson street, from Grazier
street to north line of the Pennsylvania Rail
road, approved August 7, 1888, which reads as
follows: An ordinance authorizing the open
ing of Clawson street, from Grazier street to
north line of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Section 1 Be it ordained and enacted by the
city of Pittsburg, In Select and Common Coun
cils assembled, and it is hereby ordained and
enacted by the authority of the same-That the
Chief of the Department of Public Works be
and is hereby authorized and directed to cause
to be surveyed and opened within 60 days from
the date of the passage of this ordinance, Claw
son street, from Grazier street to the north line
of the Pennsylvania Railroad, at a width of
40 feet, in accordance with an ordinance lo
cating the same, approved October 25, 1SS7.
The damages caused thereby and the benefits
to pay the same to be assessed and collected in
accordance with the provisions of an act of As
semblv of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
entitled "An act authorizing and directing
Councils of cities of the second class to pro
vide for the improvement of streets, lanes, al
leys and public highways, sewers and sidewalks,
requlrinc plans of streets, providing for the
appointment of a Board of Viewers of Street
Improvements, prescribing their duties, grant
ing appeals to Councils and Court, providing
for the assessment ana collection of damages
and benefits, authorizing the use of private
property and providing for tiling liens and reg
ulating proceedings thereon and prohibiting
the use of public streets without authority of
Councils," approved the 14th dav of June, A.

ed to read as follows:

cils assembled, and it is hereby ordained and
enacted by the authority of the same. That the
grade of the west curb line of Halket street,
from Fomcs avenne to Wilmot street, be and
tbe same is hereby established as follows, viz.:
Beginning at tbe south curblineof Forbes ave
nue at an elevation of 218 55-100 feet, thence
level for a distance of 12 feet at an elevation of
218 55-100 feet, tbence falling at the rate of
2 25-100 feet per 100 feet for a distance of 1.232
61-100 feet to the sontb curb line of Emily street
at an elevation of 190 82-100 feet, thence tailing
at the rate of 4 feet per 100 feet for a distance

Whereas, The city of Pittsburg, upon the
application of the property owners interested,
is about to open Spring alley, in the Sixteenth
ward ot the city of Pittsburg, from Thirty
third street to Thirty-fourth street, through
and over certain lands belonging to tbe Pitts
burg Junction Railroad Company, abutting
upon the northerly slde-of Thirty-third street.
And Whereas, The said Pittsburg Junction
Railroad Companv has'agrced to release .and
acqu't the city of Pittsburg from all cUirus fur
damage or Injuries liv It sustained by reason
of the opening of a lid Spring alley tlironsh nnil
over Its lanns afurtaid, pruvuteil and upon

monument at the first angle in Shady avenne
south from Penn avenue; tnence deflecting to
tbe left 75 17' for a distance of 1.135.37 feet to
a pin; thence deflecting to the right 21 12' 20"
