SEALED PROPOSALS Will BE HE
CEIVED atthe office of the Cltv Controller
until the 17th day of April, A. D. 1889, at S
o'clock P. it, for furnishing fuel for Brilliant;
Bedford and Herrou Hill pumping stations,
from the 15th day of ApriL 1889, until the 13th
day of April, 1890. to be delivered at the differ
ent works; also for furnishing and delivering to
Brilliant pumping station. A-V.R.A. four
brass packing rings, each 65-inch ooter and 61
inch inner diameter, and three and three
quarter Inches wide finished sizes, to be com
posed of nine parts copper and one part tin. to
be bored and turned so as to make steam
tight joints. Probated bonds as follows:
Brilliant Pumping Station, twenty-five
thousand dollars; Herron Hill Pumping;
Station, five thousand dollars; Bedford
Pumping Station, five thousand dollars,
packing rings, five" hundred dollars, must
accompany each bid and the bondsmen must
be property holders residing in Allegheny
county. No bid will be considered unless ac
companied by bonds in the above amounts;
probated before the Mayor or City Clerk.

the office of Superintendent of Water Supply

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT ALL
owners (whether residents or non-residents
of the city of Pittsburg) of drays, carts,
wagons, carriages, buggies, eta. must pay their
license at this office forthwith. All licenses not
paid on or before first Monday in March, 188V,
will be placed in the hands of police officers for
collection, subject to a collection fee ot 50
cents, and all persons neglecting to pay on or
before first Monday in May, 1889. will be sub-'
ect to a penalty doable the amount of the
icensc'to be recovered before the proper legal
authorities ot said city. The old metal plate of
last year must be returned at the time license
are taken out, or 25 cents additional will be
charged on the license Rates of license: Each
one-horse vehicle $6 00: each two-horse vehicle
510 00: each four-horse vehicle, 512 00: each four
horse back, 515 00: omnibus and timber wheels
drawn by two horses, 1 10 00. One extra dollar
will be charged for each additional horse used
in above specified vehicles.
