in a telegram received by his mother
last Thursday from the War Depart
ment
The Clarence Sergeant, whose
mother © was informed early last
month that her son had been wound-
ed in action in Belgium on Decem-
ber 20, was serving with the 101st
Airborne Paratroopers
He enlisted in the U. 8. Army in
the summer of 1942 and trained at
Pt. Benning, Ga., where he remained
until going overseas in the fall of
1943, landing in Prance. He then
went into Holland and finally into
Belgium.
He attended the Snow Shoe high
school and was employed about a
year by the J, H. Prance Company
at Clarence at the time of entering
service

Sgt. Fisher was born May 15, 1024
in Ty the son of Raymond R.,
and the late Elsie (Boob) Fisher. He
is survived by his father, two broth-
ers and a sister: Sgt. Donald. who
has been in the armed forces in
England for two years: Guyer, of
Tyrone, and Mrs. Pauline Burns, at
home. He was a member of the
First United Brethren church
Bgt. Fisher was a graduate of Ty-
rone high school, class of 1043, and
an outstanding athlete in the high
school. He enlisted January 1, 1043,
and was granted a furlough to coine
back for the commencement exere
cises. He was sent overseas in Oct«
ober 1944

news from Chester last week. On
Monday they received a letter dated
October 19, 1044, in which he told
of his having been moved from a
camp in Austria to another camp
inside the Reich. He is now located
at the same camp as his brother,
Joseph. Notwithstanding the glad-
ness which came with the fact that
their two sons are together, Mr. and
Mrs. Petroski were doubly pleased
because this is the first word they
have had from Chester for over 14
months. The last letter they re-
ceived from him was dated Novem
ber, 1943,
