on Thursday evening, January 27,
1944. Mr. Gates, who had apparent-
ly been in good health, died soon
after returning to hi home from
work at the A. and P. bakery. He
was a son of Thomas M, and Mary
Gardner Gates of Pennsylvania Fur-
nace, both deceased, and is survived
{by his wife, the former Rhoda Moore
of Altoona, and a daughter, Phyllis,
