MRS. EFFIE GOODMAN,
Mrs. Effie Goodman of Da-
kota, Ill, died at a Freeport hos-
pital Thursday, Oct. 14, {ollowing a
brief illness. The former Effie Meyer
was born in Rock Run township
March 9, 1866, the daughter of Dan-
jel and Matilda Smull Meyer. She
was married in December, 1893 to
Lincoln Goodman, who preceded her
in death. She was a member of the
Dakota Methodist church. Survivors
include a daughter, Marguerite
Goodman at home; a son, Boyd
Goodman of Freeport; a sister, Mrs
Emma Lauck of Peabody, Kans., and
a brother, John Mever, of Dakota
Funeral services were held the fol-
lowing Saturday afternoon at the
Dakota Methodist church, Rev. Gene
Van Kranenberg, pastor, officiating
Burial was made in the Dakota cem-
clery
