calls for the serum for three or four
years, the last call being when an
employe of a circus showing in|
Bellefonte was bitten by a snake
Mr. S8henck said that snakes seem |
to be unusually numerous in the |
vicinity of his home this year. Last |
Thursday afternoon. he said, he saw |
a copperhead attack one of his;
voung chicks in the chicken vard. |
By the time Mr. Shenck man over to |
the spot, the snake had the chick's |
head in its mouth Shenck rescued |
the chick and killed the snake, |
iwhich measured nearly three feet!
in length. The chick did not sur- |
vive its encounter with the snake |
The snake which bit Mr. S8henck |
{was described as being a “young” |
jone which measured only about two
jfeet in length, he said.
