Mrs. George B. Thompson,

surgical patient at the Centre coun-
ty hospital for several weeks, Tues-
day afternoon was taken to the
Philipsburg State Hospital to under-
go special treatment. Mrs. Thomp-
son made the trip in the Widdowson
ambulance.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Swint
of North Thomas street, have stored
their furniture and have left Belle-
fonte. Mr. Swint, employe the
Bell Telephone Company, has been
transferred to Wilkes-Barre, and
Mrs. Swint has to Rochester
N. Y.. to be with her sister, who is
ill.

Joseph Lambert, better known

sic training at Bainbridge, Md., and
has entered the Chicago University
at Chicago for special training in
signaling and radio work. He is a
son of Mrs. Tracy Lambert, Miles-
burg.
—Anthony Sticeo, of Pittston, and
his son, Elmer Stieco, of Waterbury,
Conn., spent the weekend in Belle
fonte as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pred
Iovine and family, at their home
west of Bellefonte. The younger Mr.
Sticco has entered the armed forces
and is scheduled to report soon to
New York City where he will begin
officers’ training.

a visit with her fiance, Pvt. George
Plagianos, formerly of Bellefonte,
who Is stationed at Paine Field near
Everett. Miss Campbell, employed In
the Titan Metal] Company offices,
expects to be absent for about two
weeks.
—Pyvt. Vincent Morgan Lucas, of
Bellefonte R. D. 3, youngest son of
the late John A. Lucas, who was
sent to New Cumberland on Decem-
ber 1, 1042, and who was transferred
from there to Camp Adair, Oregon,
spent a week's furlough at his home
here. Fe returned to Camp Adair
Monday, and received a promotion
from private to corporal. Before
entering army service he was em-
ployed at the Titan for more than
five years.
Reports have reached Bellefonte
that Jack Montgomery, son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Montgom-
ery, of Bellefonte, was wounded in
action and is now in an English hos-
pital. The reports are entirely with-
out official confirmation. According
to information available in Belle-
fonte, Montgomery suffered head
wounds, but is not in serious con-
dition. He is a brother of Gordon
Montgomery, also a former well

The contestants for king are Charles
Ammerman, Robert Rockey and Guy
Corman. The contestants for queen
are Martha Bloomquist, Fay Jones,
Marjorie Wehr, Betty Smith and
Jane Wagner. Those for Prince are
Tom Kellerman, Curtis Wagner, Lee
Smith, Dick Bonnell and Dick Cap-
ers. Por pricess are Barbara Sten-
ger, Joan O'Hara, Dorothy White,

wedding anniversary at their home

Their entire married life has been
spent in Bellefonte. For several
years Mr, Cowher was employed by
the late Judge and Mrs. A. O. Fuist,

ber of years afterwards he was
