SCOTIA NEWS
(H. M. Williams) |
Being very busy for the last couple
weeks and not having very much
to write, T will now try and bring
up the last couple of weeks' news. |
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shuey and
children of Julian, spent Sunday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs, Willlam
Saxion, Jr, on the Echo farm
Mr. and Mrs, Moses Behrer spent
their vacation with their children at
Fillmore. Mose does not take a va-
cation. very often but decided It
would do him good to take a vaca-
tion this year

Quite a number of the people in
this locality attended the homecom-
Ing at Fillmore last Sunday in hon-
or of Mr. William Tressler, who cele-
brated his one hundredth birthday
last Monday. Mr. Tressler is well
known in this locality, Mrs. Johanna
Williams, who was seventy-six vears
old last Monday, also spent the day
there helping to celebrate his birth-

Charles Bush. who is stationed
somewhere in Virginia, is seen quite
a lot visiting over arcund Tar Hol-
low, and we would like to know what
the attraction is over there. We don't
think it is because Charles is now
in the U. 8. Army, for we have seen
him there too often before. There
are four nice little girls over there
and maybe one of them tell
us. How about it Jerry?
Well folks, we have been holding
back for some time about the an-
nouncement of the Scotia picnic
The committee didn't just know
what to do, so we asked quite a few
folks what they thought about it
and all of them said go ahead and
have it. Now here it is all in a nut
shell. Please do not expect too much
this year on account of
tion of things. such as
rationings, and we do not
urge anybody to attend
this year as things may be better
next vear and we all can plan on
better things. So we are planning on
having our picnic on Saturday, Aug-
ust 1st. Come, as many as can, and
we will all enjoy the da y together
We have not planned any amuse-
ments as we have taken this item up
with many people and they sald we
will all go there this year and have
