count of liquor or beer referendum

| Judge Walker, in his opinion, finds
| that referendum was held under
provisions of the Liguor Control
Act. and not under the authority of
the State Election Code, The Liquor
| Contrel Act, the court adds, doesn’t
provide for any recount, and the
Supreme Court has held there is no
authority in the law for a contest
of an election of that kind
The Election Code, the opinion
continues, provides for the opening
of ballot boxes on allegations of
fraud or error, but only for recount
ing the votes cast for candidates for
public offices. It makes no pro-
visions for contesting elections of
other types, such as liquor refer-
endums, the opinion sets forth.
