Listings Only 191) Over Majorities Shown Last Year WINTER “PURGE” CLEARED LISTS Minority Parties Show In- crease of 160 Since 1939 According to final registration fig- ures released yesterday by the Cen- tre County Commissioners acting as the Registration Commission, the Republican party will enter the Presidential election, November 5, with a numerical margin of 2.776 votes over the Democrats, but in comparison with last fall's totals,! the change in the relative strengths of the two parties in the past year Is measured in terms of fractional percentages. In other words, last fall's regis- tration showed 12660 Republicans and 11374 Democrats in the county, or 556.23 per cent Republicans and 44.77 per cent Democrats. Repubii- can registrations since last fall have exceeded Democratic listings by only 191. Now, with a Republican registra-!| tion of 13973 and a total of 11.187 registered Democrats, the relative percentages of strength are: Repub- leans, 55651 per cent, and Demo- crats, 4486 per cent, According to these figures, there decidedly is no political trend one way or another as evidenced by registrations.
