Brockerhoff Hotel is a picture mur-
gl of Bellefontes Famous Spring
The mural, realistically tinted, is
4 by 8B leet in size and was enlarged
from a postcard photograph. Fixed
in a frame with adequate lighting,
the mural is a most attractive dis-
play and an excellent advertisement
for one of the town's greatest at-
tiactions to tourists. The murals are
made by the Alexicraft Display
Compiny of Tyrone. Although the
original photograph was enlarged
about 18 diameters, the detail re-
mains surprisingly sharp and the
mural is most lifelike

Snuffie” Montgomery, aged 2
years, son of Mr. and Mrs Jack
Montgomery of North Spring street,
8 probably the town's youngest suc
cessful angler. Last Thursday after-
noon while he and his grandfather,
Robert Montgomery, of West High
street, were fishing along Spring
Creek, the youngster, attired: in
boots and with steel rod, reel and
all the other necessities, hooked
and landed a nine-inch brook trout
To round out the days achieve
ment he ate the fish. (No this isn't
a new gulping record. The fish was
first cleaned and fried.)
~The new street lights, installed
last week on top of the memorials
in front of the Court House, one on
either gide of Governor Curtin's
g.atute, add greatly to the illumin-
ation of the Court House lawn,
which up to this time has been one
of the most poorly lighted areas in
the business district. The brilliant
lights, however, have had an un-
favorable effect upon the appear-
ance of the Court House at night
The building, 100 far away to receive
illumination from the new lamps,
looks scmewhat like a ship in a fog,
with only the small lamps at the
sides of the building appearing dis-
tinctly.

~The school board's action, Mon-
day night, in launching a move to
close Lamb Street between Spring
street and the alley at the rear of
the Episcopal church property
seems to be the most concrete evi-
dence to date that the board fully
intends to erect a new school
building on the present site, rather
than on some other location. Bome
years ago a similar attempt was
made, but the plan was balked by
several individuals. At present, no
such oppositipn Is expected, par-
ticularly in view of the fact that all
the land available will be needed
for the new school building and re-
creation gropnds. The closing of the
street would not only join the two
school properties, the commons and
the old gas plant site, but also
would make available to the school
the considerable piece of ground
now taken up by the street and the
sidewalks on both sides,
Approximately 2500 persons vis-
ited and inspected Bellefonte's 1038
demonstration home on East Linn
street, it was announced Sunday
night with the close of the nine
day period curing which the home
was open to the public. Since Sun-
day workmen have given the floors
and other woodwork a final coat of
paint to freshen up the natural
wear and tear resulting from the
open house, and the owner, Clyde
