sponsible for the packing. Seawright will

Duncan and John Todd began in 18114 a
-mail foundry enterprise near Reynold-'
mill. In 1860 they removed their shop* to
tbeir present silo along tho race, and be
tween Gerberiek A Halo's flour mill and
the old B A- 8. 8. railroad de(n>t In 1871
Mr. Todd retired and VV. R Jenkins and
J. Howard I.iligle became associated with
Mr. Duncan in 1876 These latter gentle
men now have the entiro management of
the shop*.

to give your readers a description of this
industry, and in pursuant-oof this drsiro,
p.idtbu edict! a visit last Tuesday. Mr
Lmglo was absent from town, but we
found Mr. Jenkins, with a fow mire
u t-s leisure, and woro most courteously re.
c ived and shown the different department*.
These are the machine shop, under the
able foremanship ol Geo. Durham;!) ; the
foundry, under the charge of Geo. Taylor ;
the blacksmith shop has the tare and super
vision of Thos. Youlten. Here we met our
old Iriend and lah-titcd smith, Jesse Kling
-r. And the pattern shop there seemed
to our bewilderen mind patterns for every
thing in Iron that the honest brain of man
ever devised, and we walked carefully for
tear of some infernal machine. W'. Stroub
