'eachers and by a large number of citizen*
who took a deep interest in the proceed
ings. Each paper and topic was followed
hv discusaion which at times was very
earnest and exhaustive. Among the teach
ers taking part in discussion were those
already named as having papier*, while
directors I)r. Mingle and 11. K. Duck and
citizens Hon. W. K. Alexander, Messrs j
W. F. Smith, Abe. Hurler and others took
an active part in discussion. The exhibit
of school room work was highly creditable
and Included a large number of geological
and mineral specimens, shell*, drawing,
writing and spielling. Prof. Wolf is en
titled to much praise for the zeal he has
shown in striving to present opportunities
for the professional improvement of teach
ers, while the Borough directors, tbe citi
zen* and choir deserve credit for doing all
they could to make tbe Institute* pleas
urable and profitable season for the teach
