On her deathbed at Santa Barbara,
Cal., twenty years ago, Mr*. Blanco
gave $20,000 in trust to her most inti
mate friend. Mr*. Del Vslle, charging
her solemnly to keep its possession a
secret until Marie Blanco, then a baby,
became 21. Mr*. Blanco had no faiih
in banks or wills, and died satisfied
that ber daughter would receive the
treasure, which was in the form of
diamonds. Miss Blanco was recently
