A trial in the United .State* District
Court of Philadelphia, on Monday la*t

Hon. Simon Cameron and .Senator J
Donald Cameron a* witneces. It wa* a
civil *uit against Samuel F. Barr, brought
by the Government to recover SSO 000,
the amount of a bond alleged lo have
been given by Mr. Barr aa surely for
Robert Bile* Kinsbury a* Collector ol
the Second district of Texas. The
Cameron*, father and son, wit"- whom
Mr. Birr has been closely related in
burinem for many years, heingcalled to
testify in relation to th* signature, de
dared it a forgery. The jury adopted
this view of the cse and exonerated
Mr. Barr. Prom 1867 until recently
Barr waa the elder Cameron's private
secretary. A* the father and son left
the Court room they were followed into
the street by a crowd of curious person*,
from whom they escaped by jumping
into e carriage and driving rapidlv
away. The suit to reoover on the bond
alleged to have been given by Barr
grew out of the fact that Kingsburv
wa* deficient in hi* custom* duties and
had incurred * debt to the Government
for over $14,000.
