from protracted travel in a distant land. Some
very signal instances of this kind are attested of
female Sufferers, emaciated victims of apparent
marasmus, sanguineous exhaustion, critical chan
ges, and that complication of nervous and dys
peptic aversion to air aud exercise for which the
phvsician has no name.
In NERVOUS AFFECTIONS of all kinds, and for
reasons familiar to medical men, the operation of
this preparation of iron must necessarily be salu
tary, for, m like the old oxides, it is vigorously
tonic, without being exciting aud overheating :
and gently, regularly aperient, even in the most
obstinate cases of costivohess without ever being
a gastric purgative, or inflicting a disagreeable
sensation.
It is this latter propertv, among others which
makes it so remarkably effectual aud permanent, a
remedy for Piles, upon whick'it also appears to
exert a distinct and specific action, by dispersing
the local tendency which forms thetn.

iron has had far more than the good effect of the
most cautiously bulan ced preparations of iodine,
without any of their well known liabilities.

dently invited to this remedy and restorative, in
the eases peculiarly affecting them.
In RHEUMATISM, bo;h chronic and infiamatory—
in the latter, however, more decidedly—it has
been invariably weli reported, both as alleviating
pain and reducing the swellings and stiffness of
tte joints and muscles.

progress in the new settlements of the West, will
probably be one of high renown and usefulness.

Creek Woolen Manufactory, during the present
season, has been patronized to tho full extent of
its producing abilities, and in anticipation of a !
still gr.-ater patronage tho coming season, the I
proprietors have been induced to add mine new j
machinery of the very latest improvements. This j
machinery will facilitate our operations very much
and at the same time will improve the real vaiuo
of out cloths at least ten per cent, while our pri
ces shall remain as heretofore; it being our ambi
tion to build up a reputation for this establish
