A Chickering Piane
92 Years Old
Has Just Come te the Piane Salens
TT IS numbered 858, and was sold by the house of
x Chickering, in Bosten, In 1830 nearly a century age.
It is an upright of black ebenized weed, much
decorated with gilt metal work, in a style amusing
te this generation.
It is an elder type by twenty years than even the
famous old Chickering piano with which Jenny Lind
made her triumphal progress through the United
States.
Decrepit? Far from it. It still stands up
straight and strong, and there's music of a sort te be
