Anybody who has hooked up a et

je difficulty in adding this tve stages

necessary money. The two stages can
L added directly te any of the regular
reieneratlve hook-ups by following the
almple diagram which accompanies this
article.
In this picture the phones shown in
dotted lines are the phones used with
the detector bulb alone. In adding the
amplifiers you remove these phenesand
hook up these binding pests te the two
binding pests marked P en the first
transformer. Yeu can use the same
terre battery te light all three la
ments, but you will have te have an
other "B" battery te add te the one
jeu use with the detector. The "B"
lattery shown en the left hand side of
the illustration next te the storage bat
tery Is the one you already have.
The dotted lines 'going from the stor

light the filaments. I have made them
dotted simply te emphaslze the distinc
tion between them and the ether wires.

plification use the one rheostat te con
trol the brilliancy of both amplifying
bblbs, but I have found it Invariably

dividual control.

Amateur Press Association opened its
forty-seventh annual convention yes
terday with a reception te out-of-town
members. The convention will last four
days. William J. DewdeU. city editor
of the Cleveland Press, f unopposed
for president. Cleveland will be the
next meeting place.
The organization's members edit,
publish and contribute gratis te ama
teur publications, which are exchanged
with eacii ether. It covers the United
States and Canada, and has nsseclate
members In Oreat Britain. The asso
ciation was founded in 1870 by James
M. Beck, Solicitor General of the
United States, and ethers among Its
nlumnl are Charles Scrlbner. Jehn
Wanamaker and Themas A. Edisen.
ENDS JEWISH CHILD SURVEY
Faber Would Cut Red Tape by
Uniting Groups
Reorganization et agencies In the
child-caring group of the Federation of
Jewish Charities is recommended In a
plan drawn up by Aaren D. Fuber,
Mipcrlntendent et the Jewish Fester
Heme, 'as a result of a survey of the
institutions involved. The plan elimi
nates all committees except one which
would be called the Benrd of Chil
dren's Guardians and consist of the
child-caring group committee already
in existence, together with four dele
gates from each of the eight institu
tions. The plan probably will be instituted
in November nnd is expected te elimi
nate much red tape.
CAMP LINDEN OPENS TODAY
Hundreds of Children te Escape
Het City Streets '
Camp Linden, near the junction of.
Skippack and Perkiemcn Creeks in
Montgomery County, will reawaken to
day with the arrival of hundreds of
children from the crowded downtown
section. The camp was established iu
1008 and since then 4000 children have
spent a week or fortnight there. It is
one of a score maintained by member
agencies of the Welfare Federation.
The camp Is under the direction of
Mrs. Mary M. Adams, and is managed
by Philip Kind.
