FOR THE HONOR OF
PENNSYLVANIA
m
Giiferd
A Vete for Pinchot is:
A vote te end scandalous manipulations of millions of dollars of public funds in
favorite banks, and the flotation of notes for powerful politicians, after the receipt of
large deposits of taxpayers' money.
A vote te guarantee the immediate installation of a budget system.
A' vote te exterminate the contractors' combine which has its traitorous tentacles
at th'e threat of the Republican State organization, and, banking upon a friendly
administration at Harrisburg, has its greedy eyes riveted upon the tens of millions of
dollars in State highway and ether construction contracts seen te be let, and the con
trol of the taxing power ever upwards of forty billions of dollars of assessed property.
A vote te clestrey for all time, that malign and sinister alliance of State officials
and political contractors, responsible for the orgy of profligate extravagance and reign
of legislative anarchy which saddled upon the people, among ether things, these iniqui
tous enactments:
A lax en anthracite coal, a most unjustifiable affliction upon householders, with
Attorney General Alter new fighting te have the State Supreme Court reverse itself in
order that this levy may be adjudged constitutional.
A tax en gasoline, which seriously affects practically every farmer, merchant and,
among ethers, especially, the man of limited means with his family pleasure car.
A doubled collateral inheritance tax, which requires every relative of a decedent
however small the amount involved may be, te contribute from an estate one hundred
per cent, mere in taxes than was taken by the State before Sproul and his Attorney Gen
eral were inaugurated.
A payroll of many increased salaries for favored ones, while aid is withheld from
the gallant soldiers of the World War and their dependents, and a payroll padded te an
unprecedented degree te create fat jobs for professional politicians.
