the leadcrahlp with 1. II. T. Beth
made new high prices for the year, but
the mere spectacular movement was
supplied by Electric Storage llattcry,
which seared te 1110, n net advance for
the week of nearly 112 points and 40
points above the low price of the year,
and 74 points above the bottom price of
InBt year. The movement was really
merely n reflection of the vigorous trad
ing In the stock in the New Yerk mar
ket. The turnover in the local ex
change was of diminutive proportions,
but was significant In that It disclosed
little free stock en the market.
There waa no let-up In the demand
for cither Pennsy or P. II. T. The
former reached 43, which Is the highest
quotation established since 1020, when
it reached 44. P. It. T. was strength
ened by the possibilities of nn agree
ment between the company and the city
for the operation of the Frankford ele
vated. The terms suggested by Mayer
Moere yesterday indicated the gap was
being rapidly closed up. On continued
heavy trading the stock advanced te

mand for Union Traction, which
reached 4194.
The tone of 'the general list was
strong, and once mere the inactive
shares came in for mere attention. West
