Eleaner Hnrt is the niece of Dr.

impll at Rprlngslde Scheel. In Ches-tnut

most' talented, attractive girl. I re

there once, and she was splendid.
There were about ten ether debu
tantes receiving ut the tea and the
flowers I really believe tOie had mere
than 200 bouquets. It was simply
marvelous. Her purenls nnd Dr. Hart
will give a ball for her in December,
and there are te be lets of ether enter
tainments In her honor
THE ether day when I stumbled upon
a copy of Amery Hnre Cook's
poems. I felt that it was almost crimi
nal that mere is net held about her
and her exquisite work. She's the sort
of Joyce Kilmer kind of poetess makes
poetry out 'of the ordinary every-dny
things and puts her thoughts Inte the
most charming language. And te think
she is one of 1'hlladelphla's very own !
I 6aw her last week at n elub meet
lnr, and Has charmed with her appear
ance. She is exceedingly tall, and her
small, well-shaped bead is topped with
an aureole of golden hnlr. Hhe Is the
daughter of Dr. nnd Mrs. Hebnrt Hnre
and the wife of Commander Cook, of
tha United Htntes Navy, you knew.
She was wearing an all-gray costume,
the long lines of wlilch just suited her
slender but statuesque figure. The dress
was made of n soft woolen mnterial In
a platinum grny, cut with a square neck
and elbow sleeves, nnd It wni made
lenj-walsted where the skirt was
joined with thebe fascinating, outstand
ing little pjents nt the sides. The back
and front had no waist line, save for
that denoted by a narrow leather belt.
A little bit of wool embroidery, just a
mcre tracery, appeared here and there
en the waist. Her hat was n medium
died enr, with an upturned brim of
chinchilla fur and a crown of the same
material ns the frock. A gray fox
neckpiece nnd stockings nnd slip
pers of gray suede completed the pic
ture, for she w'ns really a "study.'' it
was all se artistic. Mrs. Cook writes
the dearest pecma of the "heart and
mind," and she reads them with se
much charm. When I was looking at
her I wondered whnt words she had
thought when she chose that exquisite
get-up, for she told me one time that
words alay brought coleis te her
mind.
She js bringing out a new book in
this country nnd England in a few
months, nnd it Is te contain a series of
poems about little homely chores, nnd
Amery says she known hew te de all
the things she writes of herself. It's
te be called "Swept Hearths."
Her first .book was called "Tossed
Coins," and I must tell ynu u scream
ing story connected with that. A
woman I knew was talking te another,
and told her clic must get "Tossed
Coins j thnt it wn quite wonderful,
-lae ether woman hesitated n moment,
and then said she hesitated te have it
in her house, for fear the boys might
warn the intricacies of "African Gelf"
or the new "put nnd Take." Hclieve
me, that lady was "bulking up the
wrong tree ' in thnt case. "Tossed
Coins Is beautiful, Inspiring nnd has
much that is deep down in the soul and
nwrt. I nm proud te knew any one
ijiie has such a beautiful mind. Mrs.
cook has several darling children nnd
is a most attractive woman. Her mother
was .Miss Itebe l'emberten, and she is

Rupert Hughes' Darlnff Story
There arc dangerous
curves that every mar
ried couple must take.
What are they? Hew
can they be rounded
without a crash? Per
haps you think you
knew.
"Dangerous Curve
Ahead" shows them te
you cleverly, lightly, yet
with a deep insight into
human hearts.
Auther and director
worked for one year en
this picture. Together
they evolved the many
little touches that make
it se amazingly life-like.
This picture lives. It
is something refreshingly
new in the art of the
screen.
