Cuts in Lumber
' Si'c nf Inrriutail Frcitj! r .'nlf.
0 YOU KNOW that if the increase in
l'reight charges ere deducted, our
lumber prices now would in some
cases be actually less than thev were in
11)17?
For example, take yellow pine sheath
inpr. vhich in IMay. 1920, sold at $(57 per thou
sand; it yells now at $M0. Deduct hitf the freight
inrraio, $3.0:5, would leave only $:5G..T7. In
June, 1!)17, the price was H'.W.
Another kind of lnmlier (joist! vt'll.-i now
at ! L'. If the freight increase of Sfi.To were
deducted, it would make the present priu $.'5.j.'jr).
In 1017 it was $.'57.
Still another kind is six-im-h rookrs, which
;i year ago were $72 a thousand. Today they
are $:S8. If the freight increase of $:.(5:5 were
deducted, the price would be .:;..:!7. In 1917
it was $3H.
And yet we pay wages now aeraging liftv
per cent higher than in 1917.
In comparison with oilier materials, lumber
prices are very low. The time to buy is NOW.
Some day you'll build. If you want tho work
luii.ihnl on time, s-ee thut the lumber ccmics from LLOYD.
