Little Rosponco
Nw York, April 2fl. The msrkel on
the riroad street curb showed a gen
erally steady tone, todty, lint dealings
were restricted as in other security
groups because of tho fact that financial
Interests generally devoted nearly all
their attention to matters connected
with the movement for the new
llnrllngton 0 bonds.
This brought trading In rhe bond de
partment of the curb to a virtual
atandstlll, but those Issues were main
tained at around prerlonsly prevailing
prices, and declines which occurred
were of only slight extent.
The industrial Issues were nulct,
Sweets Co, ranging from .16 to 3V4.
ond liritlsh Chemical sold 12 to Yi.
Inter-Contlnenttl hubber was one of
the most active of the Industrial group,
being inlliteneed by the strength shown
by motor stocks on the exchange, and
advanced from OH to 10. Acme 1'sck
ing was steady, selling at 2 to 'J1?.
Southern Coal and Iron was quiet, a
small amount of business being trans
acted, during the forenoon at 0. United
Slates Hhip Corporation was tin -thonged.
Petroleum stocks were fairly active,
but failed to respond to the sdvsnres
made In many Issues on the stock ex
change. Interest was attached to the
trading in Ilyan Oil, which again
rhowed a strong tone, ranging from S
to 8. Simms Petrojeum was firm
with sales at OVs to VH- Standard Oil
of Indiana new stock was actively
traded in at 74 to 7SV4.
