tematically robbing tailoring shops In
Philadelphia and nearby towns during
the last few months.

Building. As mounted Patrolman Quln
ton was passing the place this morning,
he noticed that a second .story window
had been forced open, ("oser investiga
tion showed that n window of a pool
room on the first tloor at the rear of
the building was also opened.
Quinton summoned Patrolmen I.asli
nta and Sabarino who were nearby.
Peering through the window of the pool
room the police could see the shadows
of two men. The three policemen forced
the door open, but just us they gained
tntrnncc the men Inside jumped from a
rear window. They dropped several rolls
of cloth on their way. The robbers then
Jumped In an automobile In which two
companions were waiting and sped down
Knlghn avenue.
The three patrolmen fired several
shots after them and the robbers re
turned the fire persistently until they
disappeared.
Several rolls of cloth, all in keeping
with the latest spring styles, were found
Tilled on a pool table In the poolroom.
The police believe that the robbers ob
tained nothing for their trouble.
