Business Conditions
When business conditions arc
in the process of readjust
ment there is a great deal
of comfort in knowing that
your money is invested in
sound, well-chosen bonds.
The owners of sound and
properly safeguarded bonds
can be practically sure of the
security of their investments
under even the most adverse
business conditions. Our
March Investment Circular
describes a large number of
bonds which we recommend
for investment. A copy will
be sent upon request

In the way of new or development
there nn nothing to trnnplre oer
Sunday to give much itdvnntnge to
either Hide of the contesting forces of
the profcsionnl traders. The stronger
position of the local Federal Reserve
Ilank and the Clearing House institu
tions failed to exert nn appreciable in-
nuence. as did the continued easy con
dition of the call money market, with
demand loans again renewing at tllt pep
rrnt Time money was reported to be
more plentiful, but unchanged as to
rates. The foreign news, it Is true, was
not very encouraging, hut the general
belief is that it is not going to be serious
and the firmness of foreign exchange
would seem to indicntc this idea is
correct
While the vacillating trend of the
market, during the morning especially,
wae perplexing, there uns plenty of
action The rather contradictory char
acter of the dealing wan open to dif
ferent interpretations, mggesting in
some caseM the Inminpletlon of the
speculative adjustments which have
been in progress in u number of the
Industrial specialties for some time. It
was likewise obvious the bear contin
gent were disposed to contest nil ma

the morning progressed it wan evident
the bear crowd was back in full force
for they not only nold stocks on a large
scale hut were nluo busll engaged In
eiculating rumors
About the same familiar bear targets
were tal-en as objects of attaiks in the
early trading, with Industrial Alcohol
dropping oer -1 points; Kelly -Spring-
held Tin- l1-.,. .senrs-Uoebuck JH and
Atlantic rtulf :-V This for n time was
counterbalanced by the renewed strength
of the motors, particularly Chandler
and Studebakcr Rcfore the end of the
first hour n secondary drive was di
rected against the list with the flank
ing attack extending to General As
phalt. Mexican Petroleum, Pan-American
Petroleum and Virginia-Carolina

points.
Elsewhere, excepting the railway list,
in which dullness ruled, reactionary
tendencies predominated, but on the de
cline the whole list gradually drifted
into ii narrow channel.
