New York, March 10.- The trading
on the Broad street curb was of a
qtilet character, but a generally linn
tone vas shown and tho moderate
changer) were In nearly nil case to
higher figures. Independent oils were
the moat prominent features, the oh
sumpllon being that leading refiners and
distiibutors were quietly in the market
to buy up stocks of producing com
panies. Mnracnibo was the most active fea
ture in this group, moving up from 24
to 21'0 on fairly large trading. Tcxa&
Co. rights were In increased demand
and sold at 26. Otiffcy-Gillesplc, after
falling to 114, rallied to 11. Stand
ard Oil of Indiana was in steady de
roan, selling at 70.
There was a moderate amount of
business in Simms at 7 to 7,fe, and
Itynn sold at 7 to VA, both of these
stock apparently being permanently
lodged at around that level. Cnrlb
Syndicate held firm at 0 to 7. In
ternational Petroleum was steady.
Industrials were unusually quiet,
only n few stocks in that group being
traded in. Columbia Emerald ugaln
sold at 24. Inter Rubber ranged from
1094 to 10. McClure's Magazine
sold at 3.
Mines continued fairly active, with
most attention attracted to the pres
sure against Eureka Croesus, which
forced it down from 1 to Ji. Gold
Held Florence wns active and strong.
