CHAniXTTE 8TAHII has one of tho
prettiest evening frocks I hnve seen
this year. She wore it for the first tlm
for her dance the other evening. It s
of white brocade and the bodice Is
covered with opalescent sequins. There
arc touches or tune on me sniri nnu m
the bodice which Is cut square nt the
neck. Mrs. Stnrr looked stunning nt
thnt dnnre, too. Her gown was of blnek
tulle embroidered in light blue and It
was mnde over silver cloth. A short
train was worn with the frock nnd
the bodice wan cut squnrc at the neck.
VIRGINIA EAItliK It a mighty at
tractive debutante. I saw her on
the street the. other duy wearing a
nutrln coat which wns mndc in full
length style nnd n small hat of dark
blue duvetyne which was fashioned
with a turned-up brim.
THE Supper Club won great fun on
Saturday night. A lot of us went
down late after Christmas dinner and
danced our slippers through nlmost. The
Dorr Newtons had a party and so did
the Hells and the Heck Wetherllis.
Jeanne De Rousse hnd n jollv party.

Lee, John Whiting. RIchnrd Meyers.
Howard Rowland. Shewnrd Hagerty nnd

AND now let me tell you a tnle nbout
Elsie and Dnddv. Elsie was riding
along the road in the car nil tucked up
rinse to Daddy on the front seat nnd
they wended their way out Oormon
townwards nnd on up toward Chestnut
Hill. Elsie asked questions all through
the ride. "What Is thnt plnre nnd whnt
ii this?" Finnllv they came near to the
crematory, which ns you know. Is hnck
on Washington lane, und said Elsie,
"What's thnt place Daddy?" "The ere
matory," sold Daddy. "What's thnt
mpan?" insisted the smnll girl. She Is
six years old and has an Inquiring mind,
vnu Fee. "Well, said Daddy, "that's
the place where they burn people vttn
they are dead."
"Oh. Daddv." cried Elsie In great
Tclteraent. "Is that II ?"
